Every engagement begins with listening.
We believe the people closest to the work are also closest to the solutions. By combining research, strategy, facilitation, and human-centered design, we help organizations create practical changes that strengthen culture, improve performance, and deliver lasting impact.
Because sustainable change isn't imposed—it is designed together.
Our experience includes partnerships with organizations across education, workforce development, nonprofit, healthcare, technology, and the arts.

Every organization has a story.
Some are navigating growth. Others are rebuilding trust, redesigning services, aligning leadership, or preparing for the future. While every engagement is unique, they all begin the same way—with listening.
The stories below illustrate how we partner with organizations to transform complexity into meaningful progress.
The Challenge
A workforce organization wanted to strengthen alignment among its leadership, staff, and governing board while creating a strategic plan that would guide everyday decisions—not simply become another document on a shelf.
Our approach
We began by listening.
Through interviews, facilitated workshops, strategic planning sessions, and collaborative design activities, leaders and stakeholders developed a shared understanding of the organization's strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Together, we translated those conversations into measurable priorities, implementation strategies, and governance practices that encouraged shared ownership rather than top-down decision-making.
The outcome
The organization adopted a strategic framework with measurable goals, strengthened governance, improved board onboarding, and established a clearer path from vision to implementation. More importantly, the planning process itself strengthened relationships and created confidence in the organization's future.
Reflection
We often think strategic planning is about creating a document. In reality, it is about creating shared understanding.
The Challenge
An America's Job Center sought to create a more welcoming and inclusive experience for job seekers while strengthening employee engagement in continuous improvement.
Our approach
Rather than beginning with solutions, we began with curiosity. Working alongside employees and community members, we conducted interviews, facilitated focus groups, observed customer experiences, and mapped multiple participant journeys. Together, we identified opportunities to redesign both the physical environment and the human experience of entering the organization.
The outcome
The redesigned welcome experience increased customer engagement while empowering employees to continue applying human-centered design principles to their own work. The project strengthened both public service and organizational culture by demonstrating that meaningful improvements often begin with small changes that communicate dignity, belonging, and trust.
Reflection
Every organization communicates something before anyone says a word. Sometimes the most important redesign begins at the front door.
The Challenge
A statewide educational organization wanted to expand meaningful work-based learning opportunities while building stronger partnerships among educators, employers, and workforce organizations.
Our approach
We designed a paid remote micro-internship initiative that intentionally brought together partners with different perspectives but a shared commitment to expanding opportunity. From the beginning, the program incorporated continuous evaluation, participant feedback, and long-term sustainability planning so that learning became part of the design rather than something measured only at the end.
The outcome
The pilot filled every available internship within two weeks and achieved participant persistence exceeding 90 percent. More importantly, it demonstrated that thoughtfully designed partnerships can expand opportunity while creating lasting relationships among organizations that had not previously collaborated.
Reflection
The strongest partnerships are built not on agreement, but on a willingness to learn together.
The Challenge
A college was navigating significant organizational change while seeking to strengthen communication, improve collaboration, and create systems that better supported employees and students.
Our approach
We focused first on understanding the experiences of the people doing the work. Through conversations, collaborative planning, process redesign, and continuous feedback, leaders and employees co-created improvements that reflected the realities of everyday practice rather than assumptions made from a distance.
The outcome
The organization strengthened communication, streamlined operations, expanded services, and fostered a culture of shared responsibility for continuous improvement. Employees became active participants in shaping change instead of passive recipients of it.
Reflection
Sustainable organizational change is rarely about finding the perfect solution. It is about creating the conditions for people to solve problems together.
No two organizations are alike.
Yet successful transformation follows a remarkably consistent pattern:
We begin by listening.
We seek to understand the relationships, experiences, and systems that shape everyday work.
We design collaboratively, test thoughtfully, and help organizations build the internal capacity to continue learning long after our engagement ends.
Because lasting change is not something we deliver.
It is something we create together.
